U.S. Federal Courthouse – San Antonio, TX
The new federal courthouse project was proposed to meet the ten-year occupancy needs of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas and is also part of a downtown revitalization planned by the City of San Antonio.
Woods Peacock Engineering Consultants is teamed with a structural engineering firm in Austin, TX to provide the structural engineering design for the project. The project consists of two buildings: a 5-story courts building, which includes below-grade parking, and a 4-story office building. In addition to code-required design for gravity and lateral loadings, the design will also conform to ISC Security Design Criteria for anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP) and progressive collapse.
