This design/build project in the Sandton central business district included an office building, a utility building, three compound access control (CAC) buildings, and perimeter security elements. Woods • Peacock Engineering Consultants was responsible for the design and detailing of the perimeter security and civil/site structures for the compound.
The perimeter security elements included a combination of anti-climb and anti-ram walls and fences. The design was performed in accordance with the standards specified in the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) Supplements to the International Building and Zoning Codes.
The civil/site structural design included:
- Concrete retaining walls
- A segmental masonry retaining wall
- A steel vehicle parking canopy
- Steel pedestrian walkway canopies
- Underground concrete utility structures
- Compound Size: 3.1 hectares (7.66 acres)
