Cory M. Sauer, P.E.
Cory has been with Woods • Peacock Engineering Consultants since 1999, after 2-1/2 years with FDE Ltd, Consulting Engineers in Alexandria, VA. Cory has a depth of experience in the design of steel, concrete, and masonry load-bearing structures, as well as field experience in the observation of new construction and renovation projects. He has been involved in several projects involving the renovation and adaptive reuse of historic structures. He also has extensive experience with the AF/TP standards for U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Building Operations and the U.S. Department of Defense (UFC) and has worked on over a dozen U.S. Embassy design projects where he either performed or oversaw the design of the perimeter security elements.
His recent experience with government agencies includes Department of State (DOS), Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Architect of the Capitol (AOC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH). Cory is a member of AISC, ACI, ASCE, SAME, and ACEC.
Cory earned his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1997, with a specialization in structural engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, State of Maryland, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of New York, State of Florida, and State of Colorado.
Daniel P. Painter, P.E., PSP
Daniel has been with Woods • Peacock Engineering Consultants since 2003. Daniel has a depth of experience in the design of steel, concrete, and masonry load-bearing structures; in field observation of construction of new and renovation projects; and in management and guidance of staff engineers in design and analysis. Since 2013, Daniel has performed extensive blast analysis and design for Woods • Peacock including work for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), and the Veterans Affairs (VA). He has Physical Security knowledge and experience in working with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Building Operations. He also has worked on projects involving Progressive Collapse Analysis with both the Tie Forces approach and Alternative Path Method using the Nonlinear Dynamic Procedure.
Daniel has worked on a wide range of buildings including airport terminals, educational facilities, historic structures, hangars, simulator buildings, fire stations, and maintenance facilities. Projects he has worked on have been both in the United States as well as abroad. He was the Project Manager and Structural Engineer for the replacement of the U.S. Naval Academy Dive Tower at Lejeune Hall, which won a 2010 Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington Merit Award.
Daniel is a member of ASIS International and has been a certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) since 2019. He is also a member of SAME and AISC.
Daniel earned his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 2003, with a specialization in structural engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Colorado and State of Texas.
