Projects for the Structural Engineer are assigned based on your ability, strengths, and motivation.
Position:
- Full-Time Structural Engineer
- 4 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering
Location:
- Alexandria, VA
- In Office (occasional remote work after probationary period)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise structural designers and less experienced structural engineers
- Project management under the supervision of a Principal
- Communicate and coordinate with architects and engineers of other disciplines
- Supervise and perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes and standards (i.e. IBC, IEBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, UFC)
- Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions
- Review and evaluate existing building structural systems
- Write technical reports
- Oversee production of Contract Documents (i.e. Structural Drawings and Specifications)
Required Qualifications:
- Able to work freely in the US now and in the future without sponsorship
- Degree Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (BAE), or Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or equivalent, with coursework specialized towards structural engineering
- Master’s Degree a plus
- Registered PE and/or SE
- Experience supervising and mentoring structural designers and engineers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational, time-management, and team skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software Experience: Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams), AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, MathCAD
- Experience with Deltek Ajera
- Able to obtain a secret or top-secret clearance, if needed
