Our projects vary in size and complexity, providing opportunities to grow and challenge your technical skills, and develop and/or improve your management skills. Projects for the Structural Engineer are assigned based on your ability, strengths, and motivation.

Position:

  • Full-Time Structural Engineer
  • 4 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering

Location:

  • Alexandria, VA
  • In Office (occasional remote work after probationary period)

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise structural designers and less experienced structural engineers
  • Project management under the supervision of a Principal
  • Communicate and coordinate with architects and engineers of other disciplines
  • Supervise and perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes and standards (i.e. IBC, IEBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, UFC)
  • Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions
  • Review and evaluate existing building structural systems
  • Write technical reports
  • Oversee production of Contract Documents (i.e. Structural Drawings and Specifications)

Required Qualifications:

  • Able to work freely in the US now and in the future without sponsorship
  • Degree Requirements:
    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (BAE), or Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or equivalent, with coursework specialized towards structural engineering
    • Master’s Degree a plus
  • Registered PE and/or SE
  • Experience supervising and mentoring structural designers and engineers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational, time-management, and team skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software Experience: Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams), AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, MathCAD
  • Experience with Deltek Ajera
  • Able to obtain a secret or top-secret clearance, if needed
